All Star Game & Skillz Competition Events

1. Fastest Skater - 3 Participants From Each Team
The speed event consists of individual races of three (3) players from each team complete one rotation around the rink beginning and ending at the centerline. Points are awarded to teams that have the fastest skaters. Time will be measured by stopwatch. In the event of a malfunction, whether human or mechanical, the race will be stopped and started over again.

2. Hardest Shot - 3 Participants From Each Team
Three players from each team fire a puck into the goal. Each player receives two shots and counts the faster of the two, measured in miles-per-hour. The puck must enter the goal to be counted. Points will be awarded to the players with the three hardest shots. In case of a tie, another contest between the tied players will determine a winner.

3. Accuracy Shooting - 3 Participants From Each Team
Three players from each team will participate to determine which players shoot with the most precision. Each player will have eight attempts to hit four targets, located at each corner of the goal. The shooter will be positioned 25 feet from the goal line. Points will be awarded to the team with the most targets hit in the fewest shots. Time limit for this event is 16 seconds per round.

4. Goaltender Shootout - 4 All-Star Goalies plus All-Stars
Each goaltender that plays in the All-Star game faces 9 skaters (3 players from each of the opposing teams) in a shootout. There will be 9 attempts that each goalie to make saves. The goalie that has the most saves will be the winner. If there is a tie in the number of saves, another shootout between the tied teams will be the tiebreaker. Regular SIHA shootout rules apply.

5. Rapid Fire - 4 All-Star Goalies plus All-Stars (Team Event)
Two skaters, one on each side of the goal, will alternately pass three (3) pucks to two (2) shooters positioned in the opposite face off circles. The team with the most goals in fewest shots will get first place. The team’s goaltender that makes the most saves AND whose team scores the most goals will be the winner. (1 point for saves and 1 point for goal). Time allowed is only 12 seconds per round.

6. Goalie Race - BY POPULAR DEMAND NOW AN OFFICIAL EVENT! - 4 All Star Goalies
This event consists of all four goalies racing around the rink beginning and ending at the centerline. Goalies must wear full equipment, including sticks. Points are awarded to teams who has the fastest skater. Just like the speed event, time will be measured by stopwatch. In the event of a malfunction, whether human or mechanical, the race will be stopped and started over again.

2010 SIHA TOurnament

Winner of the 2010 SIHA Tournament

Tournament Format: Three 15-minute periods (running time) using USA Hockey InLine and SIHA 2009 rules. Teams will play in three games and will receive two (2) points for a regulation or overtime win; one (1) point for a tie or overtime loss; and zero (0) points for a regulation loss. The two teams with the most points will advance on to Championship Game. If there is a tie for points, then the top-seeded team will be decided first by the number of regulation wins, then overtime wins, then total goals for, and then total goals against.
